Terence Crawford is currently having the time of his life, after his victory against Errol Spence Jr. He has broken records to become a two-division undisputed champion. Initially ‘Bud’ had planned on going after Jermell Charlo. This made sense as he is the reigning champion just a division above his. However, he soon turned his sights on Alvarez who is 3 whole weight classes above him. Even the Mexican icon appeared to be open to the idea despite his initial rejection.
Since then things began heating up and talks of a potential bout started appearing. However, in a recent interview with TMZ, Alvarez surprisingly sang a different note. The undisputed champ claimed that Spence was the only good opponent Crawford had defeated. “If you see his record, he’s just beaten one good fighter. Other than that, I don’t think that he has beaten other great fighters like Spence.” Complimenting the boxing prowess Crawford showed during the Spence fight, Alvarez claimed that he is currently fully focused on Jermell. However, he will face ‘Bud’ if a chance arrives in the future.

Undefeated, 3x multi division champion, 2x undisputed champion, “he’s just beaten one good fighter.” @Canelo, just say you don’t want to fight @terencecrawford. No need to discredit his accomplishments.

Another fan stated that he wants to see “Bud vs mell first before bud vs canelo.” He believes that it would be a better match up rather than Crawford moving up so much in weight to face the Mexican superstar.
I want to see Bud vs mell first before bud vs canelo. I think that that would be a great fight and to see how he does moving up another weight class instead of 2.
