Twitter, which is usually considered a haven for free speech and open communication, has recently come under fire for its rampant toxicity and negative impact on users. This sentiment was echoed by popular content creators Logan Paul and singer Kehlani. They recently labeled the platform as “the worst place ever” on Paul’s podcast, ImPaulsive. Twitter has been a place for sharing short messages for years and ever since Elon Musk bought it, things have been quite different.
Some believe that Twitter is changing for the good, and some believe the opposite. Many have suggested that Twitter is now allowing hate speech by allowing the opinion of almost everyone to be shared on the platform.

According to Paul and Kehlani, Twitter has become a breeding ground for hate speech and divisive rhetoric. They argue that the platform’s algorithm, which prioritizes engagement and virality over accuracy and positivity, is to blame for the proliferation of toxic content. As a result, users are often exposed to a constant stream of negativity, which can have a detrimental effect on their mental health and well-being.

On a post of this clip from ImPaulsive’s real Twitter account, a poll was presented to the viewers asking if they agree or not. As of writing, 87% of users disagree with him. One user used Andrew Tate’s term, who’s currently in Romanian jail, to refer to Logan Paul as an ‘Agent of the Matrix’.

Twitter is the perfect example of free speech bias. How can a world with varying opinions get offended by other opinions on a single platform? Not regulating speech of any kind on a platform promotes “free speech”, but when restrictions are lifted, it becomes a toxic and manipulative space. On the contrary, Paul and Kehlani are certainly missing the old Twitter.
