The viral sparring video surfaced from TMT. The clip went viral for all the wrong reasons, as Ingram knocked out Romero in sparring. Notably, J’Hon Ingram has has three bouts and came forth as the winner every time. Meanwhile, Rolly has lost one match via knockout and is also suspended by New York State Athletic Commission.
Sparring certainly does not hold any value when it comes to professional stats and shouldn’t likely be used as a source for judgment regarding who’s a better fighter since it’s a part of training. Fighters tend to make use of sparring sessions to try out new things which they can add to their future bouts later on. And leaking a sparring video is not seen in goodwill in the world of boxing, as it’s like breaking the gym code. But after watching the video, fans were led to conclude that Gervonta Davis changed his boxing career forever.
Many were also not happy about the video coming out and criticized the celebration from Ingram’s corner. The fans believed that it violates the decorum of a training session, as it is not an actual fight but rather just sparring, so there is no point in celebrating a knockout like that.
