Professional Boxing Champions (PBC) will be back with their first event of the year on the 30th of March in tow with their new PPV partner, Amazon Prime. For the uber-important event, the company has stacked a card filled to the brim with excitement. Headlined by Tim Tszyu vs. Keith Thurman, the card features another anticipated showdown, Rolando Romero vs. Issac Cruz.

At boxing’s capital, T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, ‘Rolly’ will defend his WBA Super Lightweight title against the challenge of the Mexican Pitbull Cruz. While Rolly won his title a little less than a year ago, Cruz is coming from a split-decision victory over Giovanni Cabrera in July last year. The fight is touted to be very neck-and-neck, given the in-ring capabilities both fighters have displayed in their career so far. Let’s look at the stats to figure out who has the edge over their opponent come March 30.

29-year-old Rolly, turned pro in 2016 winning his debut in a first-round technical knockout. Since then, almost 8 years into the sport, he’s built an impressive record of 15-1, with 13 of his victories coming from knockouts. His career’s only loss to date came in May 2022, when he lost to Gervonta Davis aka ‘Tank’ in a 6th-round technical knockout. While he was slated to fight Ryan Garcia in April, the negotiations went awry, thus ushering in Romero vs. Cruz.

25-year-old Cruz has had a similar fight graph to Romero. ‘Pitbull’, with a 28-2-1 record, undertook his first pro fight in 2015, winning it in the first round via knockout. In his illustrious record of 28 fights over the 9 years, he’s registered 25 wins, 17 through knockouts. However, in 2016, a year into his pro career, he was dealt his first loss against Luis Montano Alvarez (2016). In 2017, his Jose Calyecac Capilla, matchup was called a draw. Furthermore, like Rolly, he also suffered a loss at the hands of Tank Davis in 2021, however, in his case, through a unanimous decision.

While he, too, was a slated opponent for Garcia, the California-based fighter was not up for the showdown his promoter had almost fixed for him. That’s all about their records. Where do these fighters stand in terms of their physical attributes and net worth?

Rolando Romero vs. Isaac Cruz: Physical Attributes and Net Worth

The Sin City local, Rolly, a super lightweight champion, weighed approximately 140 pounds in his last fight against Ismael Barroso. Cruz, on the other hand, a notable figure in the lightweight division, weighed in at 134 for his previous fight. However, since this is Rolly’s title defense, Pitbull will be moving up in weight for this fight.

As for height, Pitbull at 5’4” will compete against Rolly who is 4 inches taller at 5’8”. Will height play a deciding factor in this matchup? Debatable, given how their reach is similar. Cruz with 63″ and Rolly with 68″. However, in terms of their knockout ratios, Romero, sort of a knockout machine, boasts of a sterling, 86.67% KO ratio against his counterpart’s 68%.
