Tyson Fury: The Underdog
Oleksandr Usyk has certainly made The Gypsy King an underdog in a fight, something that rarely happens. While talking to talkSPORT, Whyte revealed that the bout will be very tricky. He thinks that against Fury, Usyk showed something that, “He’s only shown in the amateur.” According to the Brixton lad, the undisputed heavyweight champion is a technical genius. However, “he showed me something in that Fury that I have my hands up and say you know what the guy’s are great.”

Whyte further explained that the Ukrainian was constantly pressing Tyson Fury and it is not something that anyone can do. “He pressed Fury in the front foot. Defensively it was weird because normally we expect the box and move around he was pinged Fury in the front foot from the first second,” stated Whyte while being in awe of Usyk’s gameplan.
According to Whyte, Usyk never let Fury breathe in the ring and “put him under highest pressure made him get tired.” He further explained that while Fury seemed to be struggling on his front foot, “Usyk seems to be able to do both at a split second he can go back front switch it’s very difficult.”

However, the Port Antonio native still thinks that The Gypsy King has a slight chance against the undisputed champion. However, for that, Fury must have to go to a dark place and do something that he might not want to do again.

Dillian Whyte’s terrible advice
At first, Whyte stated that the Morecambe lad might have to do the same thing he did against Deontay Wilder in their rematch. This meant that Fury had to stay on the aggressive from the start. However, he immediately changed his opinion and suggested a different game plan from one of Fury’s infamous fights.
He stated, “The perfect example would be to fight him like he fought Steve Cunningham. That’s what he needs to fight that’s what he needs to try to fight Usyk.” For the unversed, Fury faced Steve Cunningham in April 2013. Cunningham, a former cruiserweight, shocked the world when he gave The Gypsy King one of his first knockdowns. However, Fury came back into the match slowly and steadily but had to rely on clinches and rather dirty tactics.
According to Whyte, that is exactly what Tyson Fury needs to do again as the stakes are too high. He stated, “Be dirty and have a goal,” and that is the only way to defeat Oleksandr Usyk. However, Cunningham was in a deep decline after losing three consecutive fights before facing Fury. But Usyk is at his prime and is far superior technically to Cunningham, who was lackluster after that second-round knockdown. So, applying the same trick to him might not work at all.

However, the former WBC interim champion has not ruled out the 34-1-1 boxer yet. He praised Fury’s resilience and stated, “You can’t write him off and say he’s going to lose again. He has been on the can so many times he got up on win, he’s had rematches and you know he’s been down and come back you know he’s been up counted out and come back and got back to the top of the game again.”
According to Whyte Tyson Fury is “a weirdo he does weird things you know I mean you never know what he’s going to do.” This gives him an edge no matter how badly the stakes are against him. Things will settle down in a few days and we will know whether Tyson Fury will once again regain his top spot or not. However, no one has ever put Fury in such a tight spot as Usyk has.
