After the negotiations between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury fell apart, Usyk decided not to wait any longer. He immediately moved on to his mandatory opponent, Daniel Dubois. Usyk will be facing Dubois to defend his Heavyweight titles at the Stadion Wroclaw in Wroclaw, Poland. Interestingly, Dubois has been knocked out in 10 rounds before by Joe Joyce, and has even been floored three times in his fight against Kevin Lerena.
So, it’s apparent that Dubois got the opportunity to fight for the world title because of his destructive punching power. But Usyk is known for his technicalities inside the ring and the way he directs his opponents to their own defeats. Well, Dubois is well aware of his tactics and has recently shared his game plan with the fans.

In fact, physically, Dubois is at a good advantage, as he stands tall at 6 foot 5 inches, while Usyk stands at 6 foot 3 inches. Although it is to be noted that both boxers have the same reach of 78 inches. Also, in the past, Usyk has defeated a 6 foot 6 inches boxer, Anthony Joshua, who bore a reach of 82 inches. So, the size wouldn’t be a big deal for Usyk, and he addressed this situation over an interview.

In an interview with Fight Hub TV, Usyk stated that he can overcome any disadvantage that is thrown at him by his opponents. About the current lurking case, he said, “Size doesn’t matter. Boxing is a smart sport. Size may be good, but for me, it doesn’t matter.” He stated that for now, he’s completely focused on defeating Daniel Dubois, and if in the future, Tyson Fury is his next opponent, he’ll still be as ready as he is right now. Not long ago, he even spilled the beans on Fury’s fight against Francis Ngannou.
He stated, “I like Samurai. I have a road, but ‘Hey, Oleksandr, you have a fight with Daniel Dubois.’ ‘Okay, I do it,’ but next is Tyson Fury. Okay, I’m happy, I’m ready.” So, Usyk doesn’t pay much attention to the disadvantages, instead, he likes to break the preconceived notions of the fans and break through all the stereotypes.
