Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney might be involved in one of the weirdest rivalries of all time. The duo clashed in a highly dramatic fight in April 2024, but critics dismissed it after they accused ‘KingRy’ of testing positive for PEDs. Since then it has been nothing but chaos. Following the fight, NYSAC suspended Garcia for a year and Haney filed a lawsuit against him alleging battery and fraud.

The Victorville native increased the complexity by filing a reverse suit. However, things calmed down a bit when His Excellency Turki Alalshikh somehow convinced ‘The Dream’ to put a 90-day hold on the lawsuit for a rematch. While the talks of the rematch have slowed down, the duo has decided to step into the ring for the first time since the infamous April fight. Boxing legend Mikey Garcia thinks that this is their chance to get back their lost respect.

In a conversation with Fight Hub TV, Garcia claims that Devin Haney should drop the lawsuit. According to the Mexican legend, the 31-0 should focus on bouncing back after Ryan Garcia’s fight. “I think Devin Haney should just drop all these allegations and get back in the ring. He should have already fought by now or had scheduled something and show everybody that that he can come back. He had the fight with Ryan early in the year and due to certain circumstances, it’s as if the fight never happened. The fans will remember, and the analyst will remember what happened but on record, it’s as if it didn’t happen,” claimed a frustrated Garcia.

He further advised Haney to settle his accords with Ryan inside the ring. Furthermore, with so many opportunities in the lightweight division, Mikey Garcia thinks that ‘The Dream’ should aim for some big fights against the likes of Gervonta Davis. “Call for a Tank fight or someone else. Stop with the legalities and move on. I think getting into these legalities don’t seem good for his career,” claimed the Ventura native.

Mikey Garcia further added that any exhibition match wouldn’t be profitable for KingRy in any sense. Rather he should focus on getting back into the professional circuit right after his suspension period. “wait for your time and go and get back in the ring as soon as you can in a real match. Start working out again train and prepare yourself to schedule a fight the day after the suspension. So that the day after suspension you’re back in the in the ring in a real boxing match,” declared the 37-year-old.

The Mexican legend further claimed that all these shenanigans are hurting Ryan Garcia’s image in the boxing world. Fans are losing respect for the 27-year-old and he sees no reason to continue it any further. “He’s got the size, he’s got the skill, the strength, the power, so forget about these exhibitions bro. You’re not retired you don’t need to be doing that. You could be fighting world champions and I think that’s more admirable and respectable,” claimed the Ventura native.

Well, Mikey Garcia would be delighted to know that both Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney have scheduled a fight in 2025. According to reports, the duo will fight on the same card in May but with different fighters. While KingRy is rumored to face Isaac Cruz, ‘The Dream’ might take on Jose Ramirez.
