Oleg Prudky was a two-time amateur boxing champion from Ukraine. Meanwhile, it has been reported that Prudky recently lost his life in the Ukrainian crisis.

Prudky’s boxing career ended in 2015. Following his exit from the sport, he joined the Cherkasy Police Special Forces. However, it was reported that he was one of the four officers killed in an attack on May 22.

Prudky is survived by his wife, Mariana, and two daughters.

The Boxing Federation of Ukraine took to social media to announce the passing away of the athlete. They said, “We are sad to announce that the master of sports of international boxing class. Champion of Ukraine Oleg Prudky died in battle.”

Additionally, they also extended their condolences to Prudky’s bereaved family.

Who was Oleg Prudky?

Prior to his career as a police officer, Oleg Prudky enjoyed a fairly successful stint as an amateur boxer. He was also a part of a national team called Ukrainian Otamans. In fact, he was a two-time national champion in the super lightweight division.

Additionally, he also represented Ukraine in the European Championships and the World Series of Boxing. He also holds a decent record in the sport, of 17-14-0.

Moreover, his last bout was when he faced Timur Beliak on November 20, 2015.

Prudky faced the Moroccan boxer, Abdellah Boudrar, as a part of the WSB in February 2015. He showcased a stellar performance at the bout. However, Boudrar was a tough opponent and was declared the winner by decision.

He was also a very technically sound boxer. In fact, he has only suffered one KO in his entire career. Moreover, Pudsky had an undefeated winning streak from September 2013 to January 2015. In this short span of over a year, Pudsky secured an impressive 12 wins to his name.
