Muhammad Ali produced such an aura around boxing that his legacy will never be overshadowed. His contribution to society beyond the sport of boxing made him an eternal hero. There may be fighters who could beat him on numbers but there will never be a fighter who could match his persona. No matter what happens, Ali will always remain the greatest. But his fans are very insecure.

The moment Tyson Fury surpassed Ali’s reigning period as a heavyweight, which was 7 years, the boxing world lost its patience. Instead of admiring Fury for his achievement, they began to defend Ali.

A page on Twitter named Lineal Boxing Champion shared this report on social media. It congratulated Fury for completing 7 year time period as a heavyweight champion.

Now ‘The Gypsy King’ is third on the list above Ali. The only fighters above him are Dempsey and Louis.

How did fans react to the achievement of Tyson Fury?

A fan questioned Fury’s remarkable milestone by asking, “How many world champions has he faced in that time? 2?”

Though he retired multiple times, he never left his belts. Since the period calculated is from 2015, Fury took all mandatory challenges and defended his titles. So to say, his name on the list is a farce is very unreasonable for Ali fans.

This fan congratulated Fury. He wrote, “The No.1 Alltime Unbeaten Fury flattens everyone in history.”

Another fan wrote, “Retired about 4 times in this period. Had about 4 years out the ring due to Covid and mental health problems. Hell of a reach this.”

Who will Fury face next?

Fury’s eyes are set on the Usyk fight since he came out of retirement. He wants to go for the undisputed heavyweight contest with the unified champion. After failing to make it happen in December, he stepped inside the ring against long-time rival Derek Chisora.

Following the knockout win, he openly took a shot at Usyk sitting ringside. The duo had an intense face-off.

Usyk’s presence in the arena made it clear that this fight will happen next year and both fighters are interested in it.

The only thing left is the business behind the curtains.
