Female boxing champion Giselle Salandy passed away due to a car accident, on January 4, 2009. She held multiple titles in the super welterweight category. At the time of her death, Salandy had an undefeated professional

boxing record with 16 wins under her name. In her last fight, she took on Yahaira Hernandez with three – WIBA, WBA, and WBC super welterweight titles at stake.

Salandy, who went by the alias ‘Magic’, was only 21 at the time of her unfortunate death. Due to the car accident, she reportedly suffered massive head and internal injuries. At the time of the accident, she also had a co-passenger travelling with her named Tamar Watson, a national footballer, as reported by

The boxing world pours in their thoughts for Giselle Salandy

A user recounted the time they first heard the saddening news.

“I remember when this very sad news was broadcasted, her birthday would have been this month as well

Another user mentioned that time waited for none. They said,

“Time waits on absolutely no one. She is basking peacefully…God knows best.”

Meanwhile, another commented by saying,

“She was very Down to earth
May you continue to S.I.P! We Missed you so much
.”

According to one, Salandy was the

“Greatest boxer to don the red white & black.” “Continue to sleep peacefully champ,” they said.

Another commented,

“Would’ve also celebrated her birthday on the 25th of this month… Rest well angel 🕊”

Similarly, one recounted how good a boxer Salandy was!

“What a good boxer she was, R I P my dear I miss your boxing skills,” they said.

A classmate of Salandy also reacted.

“My classmate continue to R.I.P hun miss you,” they commented.“Continue to rest peacefully my beautiful young Champion”, commented another user.
