Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather found his Christmas spirit quite early this year as he went around town distributing cash to children in need. The former 5-division champion has always been one up for philanthropy. Thus, it was no surprise when he spent $5000 at the Clippers vs Celtics game.
It was revealed that ‘Money’ gave 5 children $1000 each during the game, surprising the young teenagers with some holiday cash.

Floyd Mayweather gives away $5000 to kids
The kids were also very excited at the prospect of getting cash from Mayweather, who they refer to as ‘Uncle Floyd’. Moreover, these are the same children he sent to the Clippers game against the Pelicans in October. This came after he promised the children who previously sold candies outside the Ritz Carlton in LA to give them a great experience.

The children have also grown affectionate towards TBE, claiming that he always looked out for them even when times were not good. “You always help us out when we see you,” one kid said, “We love you, Floyd.” another added. This is certainly a great gesture by Mayweather, who is very vocal about helping the people around him, especially the ones who did not come from privileged backgrounds.
Moreover, this also comes after his recent fiasco with King MisuZulu, where he canceled an appearance for his boxing tournament after not being paid.
Mayweather cancels appearance at boxing event after not being paid
‘Money‘ was invited to attend the event taking place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. However, fans were left disappointed after Mayweather announced that he will not attend the event. Furthermore, he even revealed that he would be taking legal action against the organizers for allegedly not paying him.
Johannesburg-based attorney, David Feinburg, sent the organizer a letter accusing him of not paying. In the letter, Feinburg detailed the number of agreements that were breached in the contract. “You have breached the agreement in a number of respects. Most notably by failing to pay our client the agreed fee for his attendance at the event. Which was due, owing. And payable to our client over a month ago.”

Moreover, he also claimed that the promoters were using Mayweather’s image without his permission. “In addition to this, you have, without our client’s authorization, utilized our client’s name, image, and likeness to promote the event.” he wrote
The matter is still ongoing and will not be resolved quickly. However, Mayweather will now certainly think twice before engaging in exhibition events of such kind.
