Can Jake Paul really stand a chance against a legend like Mike Tyson, even at 58?

YouTube boxing sensation Jake Paul may have just experienced what the future holds for him when he enters the ring against former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson. The duo will butt heads on November 15th at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in a 10-8 minute round fight live on Netflix.

In a bid to promote the biggest money-maker of his career, Paul has been sharing a plethora of clips on social media. Today was no different, but things might have gone awry for the Cleveland-born boxer. So, what happened? Well, as it turns out, ‘The Problem Child’ got his hands on an old video game featuring Mike Tyson—Punch-Out.

Jake Paul brands the video game rigged

A bit of history first: The original game was released in 1984 in Japan and shortly after in the United States. That same year, the sequel Super Punch-Out hit the arcades, and the series eventually made its way to home consoles with Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out on the NES in 1987. However, following Tyson’s shocking loss to Buster Douglas in 1990, Nintendo opted not to renew their contract with the boxer.

Instead, they re-released the game with a new final boss—Mr. Dream—a fictional character replacing Tyson. Fast forward to today: In Paul’s latest video, he humorously takes on the original Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!, with Tyson still featured as the final boss. Unsurprisingly, he gets knocked out in the first round.

Of course, the whole thing was satire, cleverly tied to promoting his upcoming fight against the now 58-year-old Tyson. Paul played up the loss, dramatically repeating, “That’s not gonna happen. That’s not gonna happen,” as if to reassure himself—and the audience—that a similar outcome wouldn’t unfold on November 15th.

He shared the video on Instagram, cheekily captioning it, “This is rigged.” This video from the younger Paul brother was enough to send fans into a frenzy, who expressed their thoughts in the comments.

Fan reveals how to beat Mike Tyson

With the hype surrounding the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight, it didn’t take long for the clip to start catching eyes. One user warned Paul about the same fate befalling him in real life. “Bro Mike Tyson might be a beast even in his old age[.] One hit you might quit,” wrote the user. Paul has yet to be hit with a really good KO shot, so nobody knows what will happen.

Another user felt the fight would not end like in the video game. The user commented, “That’s definitely not how the fights going.” However, imagine if it did—an entire year of promoting the fight, just to get slept in the first round.

The video game seems to have reminded this user of all the similarities between Paul and one of the characters in the game. “This is actually crazy because I’ve always said that you were a little mac since you fought Tyron Woodley,” the user wrote. ‘Little Mac’ is an underdog character in the game who is smaller than many of his opponents but uses speed, skill, and determination to win.

Meanwhile, this user revealed how to defeat Mike Tyson in the game. “You should have been bobbing and weaving,” the user commented. It’s yet to be seen whether bobbing and weaving in real life helps him beat Tyson.

Someone else felt the size difference between Paul and Tyson in the game was representative of real life. “Real size comparison,” the user wrote. However, Mike Tyson is slightly smaller in real life.

That being said, Jake Paul continues to promote his mega cross-generational bout against Mike Tyson with less than a month’s time left. Will Paul dominate Tyson like most of his opponents, or will Tyson put Paul on the canvas? Let us know in the comments below.
