Sylvester Stallone is a famous actor known for creating and portraying the iconic character of boxer Rocky Balboa in the 1976 film Rocky and its sequels. A few months back, Stallone took to social media to express his anger toward the producers of the Rocky and Creed franchise.

Sylvester Stallone’s criticism of the producers of the Rocky and Creed franchise sparked an uproar. It had sparked a discussion about the treatment of artists in the entertainment industry. Stallone’s passion for the franchise was evident in his anger toward the producers. He wishes he had control over it. He felt that the characters he created deserved to be treated with respect and dignity.

In the since-deleted post, Sylvester expressed all the frustration he felt with Irwin Winkler and his son David Winkler. He also went further and criticized David’s memoir The Arrangement: A Love Story.

Sylvester called it the worst book he had read by far. Even the fans of the franchise are very passionate about the franchise. The fandom is so loyal that a couple of days ago, Philadelphia Rocky fans waged war against the 49ers for a ‘messy’ move.

Why did Sylvester Stallone berate ‘Rocky’ & ‘Creed’ producers?

Stallone was upset with the producers of the franchise because they announced a ‘Drago’ spinoff based on the Rocky franchise without informing him. The veteran actor felt that the producers, led by Irvin Winkler, were exploiting the characters he had created. Moreover, he  felt that he was not given the credit he deserved for his contribution to the franchise.

What did Sly say to ‘Rocky’ & ‘Creed’ producers?

Stallone took his frustration to Instagram, where he expressed his anger on a now deleted social media post by posting screenshots of the project’s announcement and calling out the producers.

He referred to Irvin Winkler as a “pathetic 94-year-old producer” and his children as “moronic vultures”.

Stallone also criticized Swedish actor  Dolph Lundgren for his involvement in the project and referred to him as a “parasite”. He added that Lundgren had never informed him about the project, even though they were friends.

Stallone also posted photoshopped images of a vampire-like Winkler sucking the blood of Rocky Balboa, which was also deleted since then.

Then he called the producers “bloodsuckers” and accused them of exploiting artists and destroying families for their own gain.

Dolph Lundgren, who co-starred with Stallone in the Rocky franchise, also responded to Stallone’s criticism by saying that there was no approved script or deals in place for the Drago spinoff. He added that he was under the impression that Stallone was involved in the project as a producer or actor.
