

Freddie Roach, the former boxer and well-known trainer finally got married on the 16th of June. The 63-year-old tied the knot with Marie Spivey inside the ring while still sporting his usual sportswear. Over the years, Roach has significantly contributed to boxing. Among others, he has trained the likes of Miguel Cotto, Julio César Chávez Jr, Georges St-Pierre, and Amir Khan. However, he is best known for training the former eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao.
Over the years, Roach has tirelessly shaped one champion after the other in the sport of boxing. Hence, when the legendary trainer tied the knot with Spivey on Friday, boxing fans could not be any happier. Along with several athletes who have personally known him for years, fans took to social media to congratulate both Roach and Spivey.

Before turning a trainer, Roach competed for almost 9 years as a professional boxer in the sport. He made his professional career debut in 1978. In total, Roach had 53 fights in the pro ring. He held a record of 40 wins against 13 losses. After retiring in 1986, Roach became a boxing trainer. One might as well just say that Freddie Roach and the boxing ring have been inseparable. Now that he even married inside his boxing gym, it is safe to say that the boxing gym is equivalent to a church for Coach Freddie.
