Following a contentious conclusion last year, there remains unfinished business between ex-undisputed super lightweight champion Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall. In their encounter for all four 140lb belts in Glasgow in 2023, Taylor secured victory on two judges’ scorecards, but fan dissent ensued. Many believed Catterall deserved the win, particularly after he scored a knockdown in the eighth round. Despite widespread calls for a rematch between the British rivals, it has yet to come to fruition since the resolution of their initial bout.
While both the fighters claim they are ready for the rematch, they have been going back and forth about the other, not letting the rematch happen. And now Catterall has responded to some claims from Taylor. Let us see what he has to say about the rematch.

Catterall eagerly anticipates a showdown with Josh in March or April, expressing a desire to conclude the rivalry decisively. He specified his acceptance of the fight terms during an interview with IFL TV. However, Taylor, in response, expressed confidence in a future rematch but dismissed suggestions that a deal had been finalized. Replying to Catterall’s comments, Taylor suggested that Catterall is unwilling to sign the contract, stating, “I think he needs to stick to his crayons and his coloring in books. He just doesn’t know what’s happening.”

He emphasized the urgency, stating, “If it needs to happen now, March, April is when Josh and I have accepted the fight, and I just can’t wait to smash his head in and be done with it all.” However, Josh Taylor, in response to questions about the rematch, contradicted Catterall’s claims, denying any signed deal.
