Does Mike Tyson's performance against Jake Paul prove age is just a number in boxing?

Mike Tyson is proud of the effort he put in. Few expected him to stand his ground and be on his feet after the final bell against Jake Paul. But he showcased will and determination to not let a repeat of his last professional fight. The world applauded the American boxer for his monumental effort, and now his son, Amir, has joined the fans in heaping praise on him.

Tyson, 58, had disclosed how he had a near-death experience in June when he lost half of his blood and had to go through 8 blood transfusions. But ‘Iron Mike’ was grateful to step into the ring for one more time and had no regrets about it. What’s more? The opportunity to fight before his children and a packed crowd was an incredible experience for him. He declared, “To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for.”

So not only did Tyson, at 50-7, push his body, but he also didn’t quit on the stool, like he did in his last fight against Kevin McBride. It was a win for him. Amir Tyson turned to his Instagram handle and penned a heartfelt message for his father. He wrote, “Proud son!!!! Love how you’ve overcome trials and tribulations and win in life and conquer yourself to now becoming one of the most beloved figures ever and go the distance.”

The 27-year-old continued, “Only 58 year old I know that would be able to go 8 rounds and not pass out lol. Warrior inside and out 🔥💪🏽🙌🏾. “ He witnessed his father’s endeavor closely as Netflix handed him on-air duties. Interestingly, it could be that he could do it again, as the former world champion expressed his desire to walk to the boxing ring one more time.

Can his body hold up? The fans had witnessed the ‘Baddest Man on Planet’ wearing a knee guard on his right leg. It could be why his feet were stiff, and he didn’t move much. The rumors of an injury haven’t stopped since. But that hasn’t stopped the fans from lauding Tyson for putting his body on the line and putting on a show for them.
