Mike Perry can’t wait six more days to fight Jake Paul! In a surprising move, the former UFC fighter and BKFC champion shared sparring footage on social media today, which seems to have ended with a brawl, drawing even Paul’s attention. ‘Platinum’ Perry and ‘The Problem Child’ Paul are slated to meet in the ring on July 20th at Amalie Arena in Tampa.

Despite being the last minute replacement for Mike Tyson, who was supposed to fight Paul on the same date, Paul vs. Perry seems to have become the talk of the town. However, six days away from their date in the ring, the unusual sparring footage seems to have stored up the animosity between Paul and Perry.

Perry took to his Instagram account earlier today, sharing the clip with the caption reading, “You ain’t ready for these hands @JakePaul. Time to get dirty”. Meanwhile, in the clip, Perry, in red gloves, can be seen sparring with his partner, in red gloves. While on the front foot, Perry started pushing the action, backing his partner on the ropes.

Immersed in the intense sparring session, Perry threw an uppercut just for his opponent to clinch to slow the action down. However, this was the furthest thing Perry wanted, as he took his partner to the canvas. Perry wasn’t done, taking the top position, like in MMA, the 32-year-old started wailing on his down opponent.

This is when people in the gym rush in to stop Perry from beating up his sparring partner. Meanwhile, Paul, of course, welcomed another opportunity to promote his upcoming fight and shared the video on his Instagram story. He then took to X, commenting on the video, writing, “That’s some p***sy s**t. Private school Perry can’t take the heat and throws a tantrum”.

What’s your perspective on:

Did Mike Perry really need to resort to dirty tactics, or is Jake Paul just whining?

Have an interesting take?

Such things work great to promote a fight, but if Perry tries any such things in the ring on July 20th, he will likely get disqualified. But Jake’s brother Logan Paul doesn’t think a disqualification will be necessary since Jake will win, anyway.

Even though Jake Paul has felled the likes of Nate Diaz and Tyron Woodley, many believe that Perry’s resilience and come forward style of fighting will prove the biggest challenge for Jake Paul later this month. However, brother Logan Paul feels that cannot be farther from the truth. Logan turned to his Instagram story to explain the same earlier.

“…Yo, you’re fools. You are fools if you think Mike Perry stands a chance against Jake Paul” Logan told the people who think Perry has a shot. He continued despite how strong Perry might be when confronted in the ring, Perry’s head movements won’t be good enough to dodge Jake’s “devastating” punches. Perry is currently on a five fight win streak in the bare knuckle fighting scene, so only time will tell if Logan is right.

As fight night draws closer, Jake Paul and Mike Perry seem to be kicking their rivalry into high gear. But the question is, can Perry discontinue Paul’s tradition to put MMA legends on the canvas? Or will he become yet another victim to Paul’s surprisingly good boxing skills?
