Aries Spears: ‘Pretty Boy’ Floyd Mayweather more entertaining than ‘Money’
A quarter of the way through the video, the interviewer mentioned that Mayweather has never been knocked down. But he came close to one during the fight against Zab Judah. In response, Aries agreed, “he rocked him a little bit.” The interviewer then explained that Judah claimed he knocked down Floyd, but it wasn’t counted officially. The interviewer then emphasized that even Shane Mosley came close but could not knock down Mayweather.
That’s when Aries remarked that ‘Pretty Boy’ Floyd was much more entertaining than ‘Money’ Mayweather. “When he was Pretty Boy more so than team Money, he was even more dazzling,” Aries told Vlad TV. He further claimed he’s heard from people who find ‘Money’ Mayweather’s fighting style boring. “You know, a lot of people describe him as boring. You know he’s a defensive guy,” stated Aries.

After 17 years, in an interview with Mat Hoffa, Judah asserted it was definitely a knockdown, citing the rules – if the gloves touch the canvas, it’s a knockdown. However, according to the referee in the fight, Mayweather simply tripped and fell. So, the knockdown wasn’t counted officially. Despite that, the debate has been raging among fans about the decision even years after.
