The rivalry between Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall is as old as time, and never ending. Despite their previous highly anticipated showdowns at the O2 Arena in Greenwich last year, the flames of competition between the two of them never died down. Their second bout was a massive success as it became the most watched bout in women’s boxing with over two million views just in UK. Furthermore, the fierce rivalry was ignited recently after Shields called her out during the post fight conference for Marshall’s bout against Franchon Crews-Dezurn.

This revived the possibility of a potential rematch taking place next. However, it seems like Shields will have to find another opponent for now as Marshall has to face someone else. WBC has come out with a deadline for the undisputed super Middleweight champion to make a deal.

World Boxing Council (WBC) has already officially named a new mandatory challenger for Savannah Marshall, the reigning champion. Furthermore, they have notified her promoters, and have set a deadline for them to negotiate a deal. Moreover, if they don’t reach an agreement by September 1, a purse bid will be initiated. This is unless, the challenger Shadasia Green, “loses approved Aug. 5 tune-up.”

In response to the news coming out, Green appeared excited about the bout. According to 3kingsboxing.com, ‘The Sweet Terminator’ is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to fight for the undisputed crown. Green said, “I look forward to facing the undisputed world champion. We will create fireworks that night, and it will be a fight in the history books.” This is not the first time Green has been given the opportunity to vie for the undisputed title. Previously, on April 10, she was slated to face the then-undisputed champion Franchon Crews-Dezurn. However, the organization decided to withdraw the order, allowing Marshall, the Silent Assassin, to face Crews-Dezurn instead.
