Regis Prograis has just snatched a winding split decision over his late replacement, Danielito Zorrilla, on Saturday night in front of a crowd of 6,319. Prograis is one of the top players in his division and is the current World Super Lightweight champion. The 34-year-old boxer tried to cut in the distance throughout the fight and was eager to land a game-changing punch, but the motivation on Zorrilla’s end was on a declining note. And the boxers, collectively, had boos being chanted at them in the later rounds, as the Smoothie King Center wasn’t getting the jam-packed action fight that they were expecting from these fighters.
Well, Prograis currently holds the WBC junior Welterweight title, and had confessed that Zorilla proved to be a tougher opponent than he expected and that he has to go back to the gym to work on a lot of things. The Puerto Rican boxer showed interest in taking on Devin Haney as his next opponent. Besides Haney, his next potential bout could be for the unification of the junior Welterweight title against the IBF champion, Subriel Matías.
However, Prograis’ promoter Eddie Hearn is interested in picking a fight with Devin Haney next. In the recent presser post the Zorrilla fight, he even revealed details of a personal text that Haney had sent him regarding the potential bout.

Eddie Hearn receives a personal text from Devin Haney
In the press conference, Prograis spoke about his learnings from the consequential victory. Hearn received a notification on his phone and started smiling. He declared, “I just got a message from Devin Haney.” This grabbed everyone’s attention in the room.
The British promoter then revealed that he had asked Haney if he could show his text to everybody at the event. Well, Haney approved of that, and Hearn showed Haney’s selfie, with a large grin on his face. Hearn said, “He’s happy, he’s ready.” This gave away a subtle hint of him wanting to take on Prograis as his next opponent.
