Hollywood icon Sylvester Stallone knows a thing or two about creating successful movie franchises. His boxing movie franchise ‘Rocky’ is one of the if not the best-grossing sports movie franchises of all time. Moreover, its success has also translated into the continuation of the storyline into another franchise named Creed.

There have already been two parts of the movie starring Michael B. Jordan which have also seen great success at the box office as. Despite that Stallone thinks that the movie will not continue to perform well.
Sylvester Stallone gives his opinion about Michael B. Jordan directing Creed 3
In a recent interview ‘Sly’ was asked if he was the one who inspired Jordan to make his directional debut. Stallone then revealed that the young actor wanted to try out something new after his relationship with renowned director Ryan Coogler, with whom he also worked in the movie Black panther started developing and seeing the success the first two movies garnered.
“I think going into the Rocky world for a while and then transferring to what they call The Creedverse. I think he’s seen his relationship with Ryan Coogler and me do it. He said why not try it because you never know. I swear to god until you jump deep into the pool if you like this or this is not really what I want to do.” he said.
However, ‘Rocky’ then went on to reveal a bitter truth about actors who went into production and directing movies. ‘Sly’ claimed that he had seen actors who ventured into production, quit just after a few weeks. He also sympathized with Jordan stating that he would have his work cut if he wanted to succeed in his endeavor.
“I’ve seen actors produce and direct, literally quit in two weeks. I’m done, I mean seriously. They’re great actors but obviously, he enjoyed the process so he’ll probably take it to the next level. Poor guy that’s a lot of work.” said Stallone

Stallone is currently in an ongoing feud with the producers of the franchise due to issues over the movie rights. However, he was still honest about Jordan now taking over his gem. With that being said, Jordan also revealed why it was necessary for Stallone to be removed.

In an interview, Jordan stated that it was necessary for his character Adonis to be at a point of time where he doesn’t require ‘Rocky’ anymore. He added that the story focused more on him and his family after his character had already established himself.

“It was really important from a storytelling perspective to get to a pivotal point in Donnie’s career a few years down the line where he has really established himself with his professional career and his family,” he said
The movie is set to release in 2023 and expectations are high for its success. However, if Jordan wants Creed 3 to live up to its predecessors he certainly has his work cut out for him.
