A heart-rendering statement is also mentioned in the picture. It says, “Every night when I close my eyes this is what I see, sometimes it’s hard to forget.”
Undoubtedly, the picture of the former unified Bantamweight champion showed that though he is recovering, the wounds around his eyes are serious. According To ESPN, the incident took place when Rigondeaux was cooking Cuban black beans in his home in Miami. The explosion splashed boiling water on his face and chest, which left him hospitalized.
Not as famous as other professional fighters of his aura, the Cuban was one of the most avoided boxers in his prime. In his entire professional career, he fought 24 bouts. The southpaw defeated some of the great technicians of this generation.
Unfortunately, this incident has raised questions about the future of his boxing career.
