Floyd Mayweather and Gervonta Davis have long been together with ‘Money’ being a huge part of ‘Tank’s’ success. However, over the recent months their relationship has been rocky at best with Davis parting ways with Mayweather promotions. But now, it seems that their relationship has taken a turn for the worse.
Recently news broke out that the former champion has blocked his protege from accessing the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas, where Davis had been training for his upcoming fight against Ryan Garcia. This fight is touted to be one of the biggest fights in modern boxing and a very important milestone for both fighters looking to become the top dog in their division. However, Davis now has to manage his training somewhere else. Despite this ‘Tank’ was not too worried about a training space as he sounded off on his former mentor.

The two-division champion took to Twitter and responded to one of Garcia’s tweets. He went on to mock Mayweather’s ‘Pretty Boy’ nickname and confirmed that he was not allowed inside Money’s gym. However, he couldn’t care less about this.
“What that Floyd pretty a*s said I couldn’t use his gym anymore…I don’t give a f*ck! Nah it’s not what I heard it’s what I know chump” he wrote.

The reason for Mayweather’s actions is not entirely clear, but it is believed to be related to Davis now parting ways with his promotion.
Moreover, this is not the first time ‘TBE’ has denied entry to fighters in his gym. Back in 2019, he was criticized for preventing former WBA super featherweight champion Andrew Cancio from training at the gym, allegedly because Cancio had signed with a rival promoter. However, despite all the bad blood Mayweather might just be in Tank’s corner as he predicted who will win in the upcoming fight.
Mayweather gives his prediction for Davis vs Garcia
In another interview with FightHype, ‘Money’ picked his former student to win over ‘KingRy.‘ He stated that Garcia has only ever won interim championships which do not count according to him. In addition, ‘Tank’ has been in the best shape of his life and would beat Garcia.
“Ryan hasn’t won a title yet. We don’t talk about an interim belt, that don’t count. And we not taking nothing away from the guy, Fortuna, but he was just an opponent. I’m gonna have Tank in the best shape of his life, and just know, when he hit that boy, he ain’t gonna wake up until next year.” he said.
Although ‘Money’ has placed his bets on Davis, this is far from a sure shot.
