After Football legend Pele’s death, his old videos are resurfacing again on the internet, and in such a video, the legend was seen talking about a very dramatic incident between him and legendary Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone. It was during the shooting of the movie, ‘Escape to Victory’ a 1981 film. In that movie, Football played a huge role and Pele was the main center of attraction, and he talked about how he taught Stallone to make the famous ‘Bicycle Kick’. It was said that Pele broke Stallone’s finger during the training. But was that true?

Pele broke Sylvester Stallone’s finger during the movie
It was Sylvester Stallone claimed that the powerful kick from Pele eventually broke his finger and the memory still haunts him. In an interview in 2014 with a popular media house, BBC news Stallone alleged that he got a very serious hand injury and left with a broken finger as he was trying to save one of Pele’s shots, as he played the role of a goalkeeper in that movie. He said in that interview, “It was one of the lowest moments of my life. I got my ass handed to me. I got a broken finger for attempting to stop one of Pelé’s shots.” He also said that even after aging he had so much power in his feet.

When asked about the incident with the legend, Pele smiled and said, “He went up to the goalkeeper, and he said that bicycle kick was a fantastic experience for me.” He concluded with, “No, This was during preparation, and training. He had a problem with his finger, but was, was good, John Huston helped a lot. Because he was like a coach. Was a good experience.”
Meanwhile, when asked about his experience in the movie, the legend said, “Oh, Yes. It was fantastic.” the interviewer asked about Stallone’s bicycle kick, and he said, “Sylvester Stallone don’t how to bicycle kick”. The legend relished the beautiful memories of the movie, “Escape to Victory”.

‘Escape to Victory’ was a beautiful combination of sports, war, and drama, released in the year 1981. It was based on a true story. It was the time of World War 2 and then one soccer team named, ‘FC Star’ was getting popular. The movie was based on ‘The Death Match’ which was played between FC Star and the Nazi football team. After losing their first match against the Nazis, FC Star demanded a rematch. This was the whole story of that match. The movie was a true depiction of the real-life match and Pele played the role of the forward in that movie. Although FC Star won the match 5-1.
