The world’s youngest heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is a family man. After spending his youth as he wanted to, The Baddest Man On The Planet has turned his life around with the help of his family. Now, there is nothing more important for the Brooklyn native than his family.

In November, the 58-year-old fought against Jake Paul in one of the most-watched boxing fights ever with 108 million viewers tuning in live on Netflix. Even though he lost the fight, Tyson reportedly earned a whopping $20 million, making him one of the highest-paid boxers of 2024, almost two decades after his retirement in 2005. However, new reports have emerged claiming that the former world champion has spent a chunk of that prize money to buy something that would mean a lot to his daughter.

Mike Tyson’s extravagant purchase

According to an article in the Palm Beach Post, Mike Tyson has bought a $13 million property in the Tierra del Rey Estates neighborhood of Delray in Palm Beach. A special warranty deed filed on January 13th confirmed the extravagant purchase. The deed reflects that the 2.7-acre lot includes a lake and a sprawling residence in an unincorporated area of Delray. However, the real reason why ‘Iron Mike’ bought this property was because of his 17-year-old daughter, Milan Tyson.

Prominent Realtor Matthew Maschler made an Instagram post back in November 2024 indicating Tyson’s latest purchase in Delray Beach: “Mike Tyson just bought the lot across the street.” According to Maschler, “The appeal to him(Mike Tyson) is his daughter plays tennis, and she plays in Delray.” The Realtor claimed that Tyson wanted a property where his daughter could practice and he could be there during her matches to watch her play. “He wants to be able to fly in. Go drive. See his daughter’s tennis match. Go back to his plane and fly back to wherever he came from,” the realtor explained in the clip.

Maschler further described this purchase as a brilliant investment, stating, “Amazing. Amazing that you can do this in Delray, just a little north of Boca Raton.” The Florida-based realtor made the post on November 12, just three days before Mike Tyson’s fight against Jake Paul. It seems the deal has been finalized under both Tyson and his wife Lakiha Spicer’s name. The sprawling property includes several other stunning features as well. Let’s take a look.

A scenic investment with a beach of its own

The 2.7-acre lot is one of only 78 esteemed properties located in the exclusive Tierra del Rey Estates neighborhood of Delray Beach. The expansive neighborhood is located between State Road 7 and the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge and south of West Atlantic Avenue.

Tierra Del Rey literally translates to Land of the King, which is further proven by the access to a private beach. According to the website, most of the homes are 5 acres or more with “sprawling water and scenic views that create tranquility and security.”

Sources further indicate that the lot purchased by Mike Tyson was not publicly listed. Joseph Jonathan Schneider, broker of the Boca Raton-based Wimbledon Real Estate, confirmed the reports claiming it as an off-market sale.

While the purchase has resulted in Mike Tyson burning a hole in his $20 million earnings against Jake Paul, it doesn’t look like it matters to him. He is probably ecstatic about the purchase and would enjoy his daughter pursuing her passion as a proud father.
