The WBC super-featherweight title fight between Oscar Valdez and Miguel Berchelt ranked itself among the most thrilling boxing events of the year. The two Mexicans accrued massive applause for putting on one of the most intriguing shows in the sport. However, it was Valdez who came out on the top and dethroned his countryman to become the champion.
Right from the first bell, Valdez rallied over Berchelt with thunderous punches. He dictated every second of the fight with his unmatched power and ring management. ‘Alacran’ didn’t really have an answer for the power coming off Valdez’s hands. That said, he ended up losing the fight in round 10 by a vicious KO.
