Former six-division champion Oscar De La Hoya has been the topic of conversation over the last few weeks. The boxing promoter recently came under the spotlight after revealing an absurd body transformation revealing a brand new six-pack. The 49-year-old revealed his brand new abdominal muscles boasting a visible six-pack even better than his boxing days.

However, this stirred a lot of speculation about the reality of his transformation, with many speculating that he had surgically altered his physique. In addition, he was called out by fans and other prominent personalities for this after publically claiming that his abs were surgically implanted.

Moreover, it seems that he is still trying to keep his body the topic of conversation after he tried to steal the spotlight from his client Ryan Garcia. The lightweight contender is set to face Gervonta Davis in April with the fight being touted as one of the biggest events in the sport.

Oscar De La Hoya steals the spotlight from Ryan Garcia

The promoter recently appeared at a conference to promote the fight. Here, he was asked by the reporter about the thing everyone was talking about, which was the update on Garcia vs Davis.

I gotta ask this because everybody is asking you everywhere they go. We’re in the middle of fire sent back for Tito or Vito boxing. Ryan Garcia what’s the update?” the reporter asked. However, De La Hoya thought that the reporter was going to ask him about his abs and quickly interjected him on this. “I thought you were going to say my abs,” he said.

De La Hoya certainly seems to want his abs to be the topic of conversation. Moreover, he has also been on social media parodying the trolling from fans and making fun of his abs himself. Despite this, he did provide an update on the fight.

De La Hoya revealed that the fight will most likely take place on April 15. He added the contract for the fight was in their hands and, barring any minute details, the fight is almost booked. “April 15th it’s going down. The contract is in our hands. It’s a matter of crossing the t’s dotting the I’s. If you beat other big major points um this fight is happening it’s going to happen” said De La Hoya.

The American promoter is confident that this super fight will happen in April 2023. If this is the case, fans will be in for a treat with a highly anticipated fight finally being booked in a sport where these events have become a rarity. However, Garcia vs. Davis has the potential to change all this and start a new wave for boxing.
