Finally, one of the year’s most significant match got concluded. Gervonta Davis was a clear betting favorite to win the bout against Ryan Garcia. He didn’t disappoint when it came to proving himself in the ring. He knocked down Garcia in the second round, though he stood up immediately. It took the seventh round for Davis to serve the coup de grace that stopped the bout. But what would have happened if the contest had gone to the scores?

Unmistakenly, the scores in the middle of the sheet, where one of the judges, Dave Moretti, had updated his decisions, startled everyone. With barely a minute left, a left uppercut from ‘Tank’ Davis found its mark and sent Garcia to the canvas. He got up quickly and resumed the fight for the remainder of the round.

It is a widely accepted notion that the boxer who got dropped should be given a lesser point than the one who sent him down! Hence quite a few fans and followers joined in, shocked at the mentioned scores.

Fans ask, didn’t the judge see that Ryan Garcia came up short in the second round?

A user named Ruhaan Das posited whether promoter Oscar De La Hoya had filled judge Dave Moretti’s pocket to give Garcia total points in the second round even though Davis had knocked him down, “Oscar paying Dave cause what the hell is 10-10 in a round with a kd.Josh Furlong also wondered along similar lines and stated, “How [do] you drop someone and get a 10-10 round wtf lmaooo.

One user named Bry, also laments how Judge Moretti gave ten points each when one of the boxers went down to the canvas! “Man scored 10-10 on a round where Ryan got dropped, lol,” he said. A user named Paulfienga stated matter-of-factly that judges should never have free rein over a match and said, “Rule number 1 never, and I mean never leave it up to the judges.

But there were a few who went against the flow. For instance, a user deemed the decision-making reasonably competent and fitting. The user said, “Finally, some decent judging. And then there was Franco, for whom the result meant everything. He said, “Who cares? It ended in [a] devastating fashion. 🥊🥊”
