Floyd Mayweather made a scene outside the FTX Arena almost a week ago during the Miami Heat vs Cleveland Cavaliers game. So, Mayweather tried to jump Jake Paul with allegedly 20 dudes standing in support, and Mayweather’s reasoning behind it was that Paul said something about one of his relatives. So, Jake Paul ran from the altercation and left the venue. Paul later posted an Instagram Story where he asked Mayweather to face him in the ring, instead of swarming him with more than 20 dudes.
Many fans also speculated that Mayweather did it because of the ‘Gotcha Hat’ incident that Jake Paul did with ‘Money’ at Logan Paul‘s press conference back in 2021. Even Chael Sonnen, the former UFC fighter, made a video on the drama and he tried to decode Mayweather’s reason for doing such a thing.
Well, recently, Oscar De La Hoya was at one of the South California boxing gyms where he was celebrating the eight-year anniversary of Oscar De La Hoya Foundation. At the gym, he revealed his thought to ESNEWS about this whole debacle happening between Jake Paul and Floyd Mayweather.

De La Hoya’s thoughts about the confrontation
The reporter asked De La Hoya about his thoughts on the altercation between Paul and Mayweather on March 9 2023. Oscar De La Hoya looked at him and laughed hysterically at first.
And then ‘The Golden Boy’ nodded with excitement and said, “You know what I thought, the first thing I thought was, oh something’s gonna brew, something’s brewing. They’re setting something up.”
So De La Hoya could see that this could be a build-up for a bigger fight between the two fighters. But simultaneously, he doesn’t think that fighting Mayweather would not be the best course of action for Jake Paul right now.

Oscar De La Hoya tried to send out an ideal plan for Jake Paul’s boxing career
De La Hoya stated that Paul shouldn’t get distracted by Mayweather as of now. Because, according to him, it’s more important for Jake Paul to get his rematch against Tommy Fury. ‘The Golden Boy’ suggested that if he gets that match against Tommy Fury, and wins it fair and square, he will be “back on top of the world”.
So, before Mayweather, Oscar De La Hoya wants to see Jake Paul going against Tommy Fury once again. Well, a lot of boxing fans also want to see Jake Paul settling his loss against Tommy Fury as soon as possible.
