Oscar De La Hoya Announces ‘Big Plans’ With UFC President Dana White in a Surprising Move

Oscar De La Hoya has had a back-and-forth altercation with the UFC president, Dana White. Over the years, on different occasions, the two made numerous comments about each other and the organizations they each belonged to. Now after years of bitter days, the news is De La Hoya wants to smoothen things up with the UFC top brass.

In a recent encounter with the TMZ Sports, this is what De La Hoya now said:

“Actually, I wanna fix things up with Dana. Yeah, you know, I criticized the UFC a bit. And I was wrong for it, but yeah, I would love to patch things up with Dana.” “I have some big plans for Vegas,” he added.

What was actually the Dana White and Oscar De La Hoya beef all about?

On national television, in front of a global audience, De La Hoya was heard making bold claims about the UFC and its fighters. Deliberately, the CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, De La Hoya accused the UFC of paying its fighters less amount of money than what they actually deserved.

At this White had to speak up and so he did. During his interview with Max Kellerman on ESPN, White called De La Hoya a liar and provided every data possible to win his case.

As Dana White had stated back then, “This is about this idiot, coming on this show (ESPN) and lying. He is a liar.”

But will now the Golden Boy Promotions and the UFC come together?

Although there seems to be a desire for it in Oscar De La Hoya, fans are yet to hear Dana White’s response for the same.

In 2018, when Conor McGregor fought Khabib Nurmagomedov, the UFC made an insane gain of 2,400,000 PPV Buys. A sale that translated into $180 million! Similarly, when Canelo Alvarez from the Golden Boy Promotions matched up against TMT’s Mayweather, the PPV was 2.2 million. It racked up $150 million in cash.

Well, given the numbers, one can easily make out the market both the organizations have so far captured. If the two ever did come together, it is undeniable that there will be a mutual profit of one kind.
