The super fight at 135lbs that was going to bring the biggest rivals Ryan Garcia and the WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis into the ring on April 15 is in jeopardy. Fans are concerned about the status of the sport, with back-to-back collapsing of big fights. It is safe to say that it is the rematch clause in the contract, which has caused such chaos. The fight which had put fans in frenzy is now in danger of not coming to fruition.

Amid such chaos, Garcia’s promoter, Oscar De La Hoya took to social media to give an update. Though he clarified his eyes are set on finalizing the highly anticipated fight between Garcia and ‘Tank’, he also added a new storyline about the development that is taking place as a backup plan to the fight.

According to the Golden Boy Promotion’s boss if for any reason the booked fight fails to happen then in that case Garcia will most likely face the WBC super-lightweight champion Regis Prograis, as tweeted by Mike Coppinger.
