If Hopkins is to be believed, then he hinted that it might be possible that negotiations are still not finalized between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis. He took the example of one of the greatest matches in history, ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ to give a better sense of the scene. In an interview with ES News, the reporter asked, “Any update on Tank vs. Ryan fight?”

In response, Hopkins said, “The negotiations of that fight is like Ali vs. Foreman. Rumble in the jungle. Sayin’ Ali and Foreman.” He also added, “Certain time in boxing life, you know that always have, one of the biggest lies they never be promoted or heard about.”

Not only that, but he also blamed the boxing promotional companies. He said, “The promotional companies, that has to set down and slug it out. Like a heavyweight fight. Unfortunately, before the fans, get the fight.”

Recently, ‘The Golden Boy’, Oscar De La Hoya, who is also the promoter of Ryan Garcia, stated that he has not received any kind of contract from Davis’s side on Twitter. He wrote, “I have no contract, deadline for me is Monday or I’m moving on. #DavisGarcia”. He also added, “Can we just go back to real boxing soon?” he may have pointed out to Gervonta Davis.
