On the 12th of November, Devin Haney would square off against Regis Prograis with the WBC super lightweight title on the line. This will be Haney’s debut fight at 140 lbs after his last undisputed bout against Vasyl Lomachenko at 135 lbs in May. While Prograis, a southpaw boxer believes he will hurt ‘The Dream’ based on the latter’s inability to hit hard, Haney is confident that he will become a two-division world champion in this upcoming fight.

While the excitement about Prograis vs. Haney is at its peak, Shakur Stevenson recently rooted for Prograis. In addition, he believed Prograis would have a chance since he is a southpaw boxer. Following Stevenson’s mentioned announcement, Haney took to X and claimed that a southpaw boxer recently hurt the former in sparring.

Ahead of Devin Haney vs. Regis Prograis, Shakur Stevenson hoped Prograis would “do something” to get the victory. In this context, although he feared Haney would perform better at 140 lbs, Stevenson announced ‘The Dream’ may struggle against a southpaw like Prograis in the ring. After Stevenson’s statement came to Haney’s notice, ‘The Dream’ claimed Liam Paro, a southpaw boxer hurt Stevenson in sparring. “I guess I’m not the only one struggling with southpaws.. heard bout how Liam Paro hurt him n sparring,” said Haney. As expected, Haney’s remark came to Stevenson’s notice too.

In no time, Stevenson took to X and replied to Haney. According to him, Liam never hurt the 26-year-old. “All this ni**a do is lie and spread false rumors so y’all could eat it up and make a story out of it,” said Stevenson. “On my DAUGHTER life right now that nigga never hurt me go ask Liam himself how them sparring sessions is lmao I got the videos  Get off my d**k Lil bruh,” he added. Given Shakur’s words, one can see that he will be happy if Prograis beats Haney. At this, it is worth exploring what Prograis thinks of Haney.

Regis Prograis wants to beat Haney’s “a**”

In a recent interview with Sporting News, Prograis expressed that Haney upset him with his workout. In his opinion, while Haney might be physically stronger, ‘The Dream’ can’t generate power with his punches in the ring. “He was sitting down on his punches, and he was still hitting soft. He might be physically stronger, but that doesn’t equate to punching power. People think because he’s physically strong, that equates to punching power. It doesn’t,” told Prograis.

In addition, Prograis felt after he defeated Haney, he would be considered top ten pound-for-pound. And to borrow his exact word, when he steps inside the ring with Haney, it will be a “massacre.”  “I will hurt this kid,” added the super lightweight title holder.
