Rosie Eccles from Great Britain missed the Tokyo Olympics three years ago because of an ailing condition and injury. But this time, she was ready to battle it out and win a medal for her nation. However, all her dreams were shattered as she suffered an elimination from the women’s welterweight boxing after a split decision loss against Poland’s Aneta Rygielska. But soon after the results were announced, the audience at the North Paris Arena started booing the judges after the decision.
Everyone in the arena including Eccles herself was confident that she had won the bout. But the controversial decision by the judges has stirred up a debate among spectators and online viewers asking justice for the Welsh boxer.

The Welsh fighter floored Rygielska to the ground during the opening round of the fight, but it wasn’t ruled a knockdown. Furthermore, Rygielska was also docked points in the final round for violating the rules by not keeping her head up. Eccles remained optimistic about her triumph till the fight concluded. Surprisingly, she was “really shocked” to find out that she had lost by a 3-2 split decision. “My Olympic dream is over unfortunately,” was an upsetting statement to hear for her fans.

“I’ve given my whole life for a gold medal in the Olympics, or at least an Olympic medal to take home. I really would have been proud of that,” Eccles said as she was processing her loss. She mentioned that a boxer knows when they have won a fight, and she was confident that she did.
TEAM GB was incensed at the outcome as they believed their boxer had been defrauded. Internet users have enabled an online uproar against the 2024 Paris Olympics.

From Eccles to her team, and even the audience at the North Paris Arena were stunned by the decision. What seemed like a clear win was ruled out a loss for the Welsh fighter.
Shame on judges, Rosie has won. Everyone seen her dominate the ring. They should never be allowed to judge again. Corrupt or blind.

It is peculiar that this kind of conduct is happening on the biggest platform globally. Many internet users are requesting an appeal or taking legal action in opposition to the decision.
Is there no way an appeal can be launched?
