Former professional boxer and Olympic Bronze medalist Tony Jeffries might have found a new sport following his retirement from the sweet science. Jeffries won the bronze medal in the 2008 Beijing games and also went on to have a mediocre professional career following that.

The British prodigy competed in 10 professional bouts in his career and was undefeated throughout his run with just one draw and nine victories. However, he was forced to retire from boxing after suffering from injuries that plagued him throughout his career. Despite this, Jeffries has now transitioned into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as he uploaded a photo of him achieving 2 stripes on his white belt on his social media with the caption. “2 stripes on the white belt now.”

 

Following his retirement, Jeffries became a very successful boxing coach. He started working in a gym in Santa Monica where he met another trainer who is from Kentucky. The pair then left and started their own boxing bootcamp in Santa Monica with actor Mickey Rourke, also becoming a major investor in the project. However, the partnership couldn’t last long due to disagreements and they parted ways.

The Bootcamp then got voted as Los Angeles’ number 1 gym in 2013 on Yelp. Moreover, his Box ‘N Burn gym also saw great success within just a year of opening in 2014. Jeffries would also open another Box ‘N Burn location in Brentwood, Los Angeles.

This was not all for Jeffries as he also went on to feature on the NBC TV Blacklist in 2013. He was one of the models in Levi’s world campaign in the same year. His Levi’s modeling pictures were on billboards across the world and turned him into a star.

Notably, Jeffries also trained former MMA fighter Brendan Schaub, even being his cornerman on the pay-per-view show against Matt Mitrione. He has also been featured in the Cannonball video, a single by Skylar Grey featuring X Ambassadors. Moreover, in June 2022, Jeffries starred in a Dhar Mann video. Jeffries currently is one of the most popular boxing coaches in the world. He provides online lessons on boxing and even gives personal training sessions at his various gyms.
