Anthony Joshua did more than just win his fight against Francis Ngannou. And for that, Oleksandr Usyk’s promoter, Alex Krassyuk, is thankful. Only last year, Ngannou made his spectacular debut in boxing, nearly defeating the pride and joy of the heavyweight division, Tyson Fury. However, Joshua proved it was a fluke at best!
Right from the onset, Joshua was all business! He knocked Ngannou down in the very first round, shattering his confidence. And come the second round, the fight ended when Joshua dropped Ngannou again, this time for good. An unconscious Ngannou lay on the canvas as evidence that no UFC fighter can overcome the superiority of a boxer in his domain. Meanwhile, on social media, Alex Krassyuk expressed his gratitude for making a case for all boxers.

Turning to X (formerly Twitter), Krassyuk wrote, “@anthonyjoshua Bro, thanks for showing what boxing really is. Good luck, and God bless You.” Despite the possibility of being in the opposite corner if Oleksandr Usyk wins in his April 20 fight against Tyson Fury, Krassyuk has always shown his support for Joshua.

When Joshua defeated Otto Wallin in December last year, Krassyuk wrote, “AJ is back. Congrats. Happy for you guys.” And when Joshua made his comeback after losing to Usyk twice, Krassyuk wrote, “Congrats to@anthonyjoshuaWelcome back, Bro. You’ve downloaded the upgrade for your software. Next fight, it should be installed.” On the other side of the spectrum, Dana White also reacted to Ngannou’s loss.
Dana White saw it coming from a mile away!
Much to the dismay of the UFC and White, Ngannou left the mixed martial artist organization for boxing. So, it’s a given that White, the president of the organization, was never too happy about it. However, reacting to Ngannou being dealt a brutal knockout, he sprinkled some salt on Ngannou’s very fresh wounds.

While appearing in the UFC 299 post-fight press conference, White claimed the result of the Fury fight would have been the same if Fury had taken the fight seriously. “Going into the [Tyson] Fury fight, if Fury trained for the fight, didn’t show up, and looked like he ate Tyson Fury, this is probably the way that fight would have ended too,” said White.

He further expressed his disdain about crossover boxing matches, claiming the results will always be the same. “You know how I feel about crossover to boxing and all. That’s how they end. Just like that,” said White. Notably, with Ngannou’s latest loss, it’s not quite clear if he will try his hand at boxing anymore.

With that said, Alex Krassyuk is extremely happy to see Anthony Joshua saving the sport and the boxers from the shame of being defeated by a UFC guy. Meanwhile, Joshua’s win can be seen from two perspectives. First, Joshua is a way better boxer than Tyson Fury. Second, Fury never took his match with Ngannou seriously. Which one do you think is the right assessment? Or what is your perspective on the matter?
