Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury might just face off in a match next year. Following the Ukrainian’s victory over Anthony Joshua in August, many believed that Fury would be the next in line for an undisputed title match.

However, The Gypsy King insisted that the match be made by December 3, which was declined by Usyk’s camp. Fury will instead face longstanding rival Derek Chisora next after talks of a bout with AJ fell through. Despite this, Usyk’s manager has come out and revealed that there are ongoing talks with ‘The Gypsy King’s camp about a potential fight next year.
It is reported that the fight could be targeted early next year and will most likely take place in the Middle East. Moreover, former super-featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson thinks that Fury would make easy work of the Ukrainian. Stevenson branded Usyk ‘Easy work for Tyson Fury‘ as he took to Twitter to comment on this matchup. This was not all, as the NABF Junior heavyweight champion Jared Anderson also chimed in and agreed with Stevenson.

This matchup has been long wanted by fans who feel that the best should be competing against the best. Although Chisora is an excellent boxer, he has already lost to Fury twice, leading many to wonder about the necessity for a third fight. However, now that talks of a bout with Usyk are getting finalized, fans can hope to see the two heavyweights collide in the ring soon.
Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk target dates revealed
Usyk’s manager Egis Klimas recently revealed the targeted dates for this potential out. In an interview with ID boxing he stated that the contractual obligations from his end have been done and that it was now up to Fury to confirm the bout.

“On our side, everything is done. We agreed with the promoters, let’s put it together let’s move forwards. Right now it’s Tyson Fury’s decision,” he said.
Moreover, when asked about the potential dates, he claimed that it would be between February and March. “No earlier than February 18, no later than March 4,” he added. Assuming that the fight will take place on a weekend leaves with February 18, February 25, and March 4 as potential dates for this match.
