Jake Paul will square off against former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley on August 28th in a main-event clash for Showtime. Still fresh from his TKO win over Ben Askren, Paul had a skirmish with ‘T-Wood’ after his recent fight.

It eventually turned out to be an official scrap, as Paul and Woodley have agreed to meet each other in the squared circle. 5X UFC titlist Tyron Woodley recently parted ways with the MMA promotion, following his fourth consecutive loss.

However, this next move would possibly be his biggest payday. Both Tyron Woodley and Jake Paul have confirmed the news via ESPN, sending the whole combat world into a frenzy.

Paul, 3-0 has signed a new contract with Showtime a few weeks ago, and it might bring him some massive fights ahead. As the trail begins with Tyron ‘The Chosen One’ Woodley. Paul spoke with Ariel Helwani to reveal his views.

“I have a list of people I plan on shutting up with my fists,” said Jake Paul.

He added, “And as I enter my fourth pro fight, I am excited to knock the first one off the list by challenging myself against a five-time UFC champion known for his knockout power.

“Tyron’s a seasoned striker who has fought the best in the world. I certainly respect his career, but I will be sending Tyron into a permanent siesta on August 28th.”

On winning the fight, it would be Jake Paul’s biggest win. Although he has beaten a former MMA champion in Ben Askren, an elite striker like Tyron Woodley would be the biggest name in Paul’s resume so far.

Tyron Woodley’s exit from the UFC happened on a bad note, as he lost the dominance from the 170 lbs roster. While a move to Bellator or ONE championship was viable, Woodley has prioritized a heavy payday at this stage.

The elite striker, with 6 KOs under his name, is regarded as one of the finest combatants in the world. While his last days in the UFC weren’t alluring, Woodley can still be way over a YouTube boxer.

Meanwhile, several fans have accused Jake Paul of choosing non-professional strikers in his road to the top. Although Tyron Woodley has no pro-boxing record, he is still a legitimate contender and an elite striker. So, Jake Paul would have to walk an extra mile to retain his undefeated tag as a boxer.
