Spence Jr. did not compete for the entire 2021. He was even scheduled to defend his straps against the great Manny Pacquiao.
However, a few weeks before the fight, Spence Jr. ended up with an eye injury and withdrew. Subsequently, Manny Pacquiao went on to face Yordenis Ugas and lost.
With his win, ’54 Milagros’ put himself in pole position to fight fellow champions Errol Spence Jr. or Terence Crawford. ‘The Truth’ remained pro-active and secured this fight. He announced it last month, but it didn’t have a date and venue. Now, that is no longer the case.
