With each passing day, the anticipation among fans continues to grow. The looming question remains: “When?” When will they hear the exciting news confirming that Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford will step into the ring for an epoch-making showdown? The talks have undoubtedly taken the world by storm. However, it’s essential to keep a level head during times like these.

Uncertainty fuels speculation and rumors, which are, as always, a dime a dozen. Just to set the record straight, the potential fight between these two P4P champions is still in the works and has not been confirmed. In an interesting development, a video surfaced showing Turki Alalshikh sitting alongside Terence Crawford, seemingly engaged in a video call with Canelo Alvarez. What’s even more intriguing is the explanation provided by the Riyadh Season head. It didn’t take long for fans to start sharing their thoughts and views.

Called ‘Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves’, reports indicate the game is slated for release on April 24, 2025. “I challenged them in the game; this is the only thing I can challenge them with in relation to combat…” the Riyadh Season head added further. The Ring magazine offered further clarification through an Instagram post. It stated that Turki Alalshikh addressed the ‘widespread rumors’, claiming that a deal had been finalized for the Canelo-Crawford fight.

As ESPN’s Mike Coppinger reported, based on the information he received, Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez met separately with Turki Alalshikh in London. It seems they are in the process of ironing out the details for a potential fight. The fight could be tentatively scheduled for September, during the Mexican Independence Day weekend.

The clip and subsequent update sparked a string of eye-catching reactions from fans. Let’s take a look at a few of them.

Shock and sarcasm take center stage

One fan expressed disbelief. They said, “So they haven’t talked about boxing lol, yet everyone has confirmed the fight smh.” The irony in this situation is striking. An official confirmation has yet to appear. However, there might be a few who could be treating the fight as if it’s a done deal.

Similarly, another fan felt that many had misunderstood the situation. “Yo, did you guys, like, not read the caption? They’re talking about video games,” said this fan. Indeed, the caption does mention Turki Alalshikh’s statement that they were discussing the upcoming video game ‘Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.’

But another user got straight to the point. They asked, “Mennis (probably Man, is) the fight happening or what? 😂 Or do they wanna keep it secret until September smh?” Given the magnitude of such a fight and its impact on the boxing world, it’s understandable that details will probably be released gradually.

In response to Alalshikh’s tweet, another fan sounded exasperated and eager for clarity. They said, “Bro, wdym (what do you mean), bro? Pls tell me it’s happening and not cancelled or something, bro.” As time passes, more fans will likely express curiosity, eagerly awaiting a formal announcement.

Perhaps this user grasped the situation best. They humorously noted, “This was an interesting way of saying, Just wait. 😂.” Big fights often involve endless discussions, back-and-forths, and occasional disagreements. Rarely does the process follow a straight path.

Turki Alalshikh further explained how he challenged Crawford and Alvarez in the game. “They accepted my challenge in the game, and we all betting on a dinner on the loser… and we decided that we don’t do the boxing fight because all three of us hate boxing, and we decided to choose yoga instead…” he said.

The Riyadh Season head emphasized that he is aware of the ongoing speculations. However, he added, “Only the three of us know and decide what and when and where things happen…❤️🥊” Eminent boxing journalist Jake Donovan added his take. The ongoing talks between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford may have reached an ‘impasse,’ he said. But perhaps over which brand of yoga mat to use.

What about you? Based on what you’ve seen, do you also think that the three of them were discussing a fighting game?
