Terence Crawford has already achieved greatness in the boxing world. He is the first male boxer to hold all major titles in two different weight divisions. But that’s not the end of his triumphs! ‘Bud’ has done this at the age of 35, making his record even harder to beat. What’s more, Crawford doesn’t seem to be satisfied yet. He has expressed his desire to face off against another legend of boxing, Canelo Alvarez. However, the question is, will he be able to take on ‘Cinnamon?’ Bernard Hopkins, a legend in his own regard, doesn’t pull any punches while answering that question.

While appearing on Joe Rogan’s podcast, ‘Bud’ expressed his desire to face off against the boxing giant Canelo. Ever since then, many experts have given their opinions on whether Terence can beat Canelo. Not to mention, Crawford will have to climb multiple weight classes to even qualify for the fight. Canelo himself has swatted any chances of Crawford winning a bout against him by saying he has not faced any great fighters. However, that did not stop fans and experts alike from speculating a dream matchup – the same goes for Bernard Hopkins!

Bernard Hopkins: The odds of Terence Crawford winning against Canelo Alvarez

There is no denying the fact that fans want to see these two mammoths of boxing clash inside the square ring. Even from a financial standpoint, the fight would be a massive hit. Both fighters are known for attracting eyes to the ring every time they fight. So, without a doubt, if the two ever meet inside the ring, money will pour in from every nook and cranny. But that’s not what the boxing community wants to know. The main query is, does Crawford stand a chance?

In a recent interview with Fight Hub TV, ‘The Executioner’ outlined ‘Bud’s’ chances of winning against ‘Cinnamon.’ He said, “He has a legitimate chance…he has an 85-plus [percent] chance to beat Canelo….He is not going in there to prove something which will fall into Canelo’s hand.”

According to Bernard, Crawford has to establish his dominance from the first round and make Canelo believe he belongs there. He has to make Canelo understand he earned his position to be there. Crawford also needs to show Canelo his time has come and left from the first round. However, he also had something to say about Canelo’s fight against Charlo.
