All the ongoing drama in booking the heavyweight title fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua seems to have vexed the WBC champion’s father, John Fury, and the 56-year-old has given his opinion on the fight.

Although the all-English clash has seen the entire boxing world split into two halves with several non-fight fans pitching their interest, John Fury has commented on how no one might pay a lucrative amount to see it happen.

In an interaction with Boxing Social, Tyson Fury’s father ridiculed the promoters and appeared worried about delaying the much-awaited heavyweight battle.

“All I can hear is dogs f*rting left, right, and center? There are a lot of them, Bob Arum, Frank Warren, Eddie Hearn, the full of them,” said John Fury.

The British trainer added, “They can’t put it honest in this climate. There is no money for it, nobody wants to pay that kind of money with no crowds, unless we get a normal way going on.”

He followed it up with a successful title defense over Kubrat Pulev via KO in 2020. That set the stage for the undisputed world heavyweight title fight against ‘The Gypsy King’.

Both the champions have reportedly signed a two-fight contract, with a 50/50 purse split in the original matchup. However, the winner will enjoy a 60/40 split in the rematch along with all the heavyweight belts on the line.

Do John Fury’s comments have some weight in letting fans know why the bout announcement has been delayed?
