The 27-year-old boxer was seen sprinting up the steps at Father Duffy Square, Manhattan—right in the heart of Times Square—while repeatedly screaming, “Adrian!” at the top of his lungs. The whole scene was a nod to Sylvester Stallone’s legendary Rocky training montage, where the ‘Italian Stallion’ conquers the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Lopez even doubled down with the caption, “ADRIAN!! We’re Taking Over Times Square.” Now, in Rocky, Balboa was the underdog going up against Apollo Creed—the undisputed A-Side. But in Lopez’s upcoming fight, he’s the A-Side. So the metaphor is a little wobbly, but hey, it’s the effort that counts. Right?

Wrong. Fans weren’t debating the Rocky connection—they were too busy cringing. The reaction? A mix of secondhand embarrassment and the overwhelming urge to look away. Maybe Lopez was just having fun, or maybe the Times Square crowd wasn’t ready for this level of theatrical energy.
