When Brian asked “One Time,” if he believed that the winner of Spence vs Crawford is the best fighter on the planet, the former Unified Welterweight champion had a layered response. Answering Brian’s question, Thurman said, I mean, that’s too much, you know?” Further elaborating on the nuances of the game, he said, “Personally, when it comes to the best fighter on the planet, There’s so many divisions. There’s a preference for styles.”

Thurman said he would consider the winner of the bout as the pound-for-pound number 1.

Will they be acknowledged as (the best fighter on the planet)? Yes. Do they deserve to be acknowledged as (the best fighter on the planet)? There’s nothing to argue against that, “ he added.

Talking about pound-for-pound great fighters, Thurman spoke about the ‘S. O. G’ André Ward. He said, We are talking about back in the day, remember when André Ward went through the Super 6 right? When he dominated. How was he not pound for pound number 1? Do you remember why he was not pound-for-pound number 1? “

André was not given the title of pound-for-pound Number 1, as it was given to Floyd Mayweather Sr. Talking about the lack of acknowledgment, André received, Thurman said that nobody talks about the number 2. “When you talk about the best, you only wanna talk about the best. The pound-for-pound number 1. So I do believe the winner will deserve pound-for-pound number 1,” he concluded.
