Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant kicked off their official face-off with a heated altercation that can have an impact on the in-ring affair. Both men are looking forward to becoming the first four-belt unified champion at 168, and that has provided an added rush to the electrifying matchup. However, not everything was pleasant about the recent scuffle, as is the case with most scuffles.
As Alvarez and Plant traded shots, IBF titlist ‘Sweet Hands’ was spotted donning an injury below his eye. It appeared to be a cut, which raised several doubts regarding the medical condition of Caleb Plant, as a horrific injury could have hampered the fight.
However, Plant’s manager Luis DeCubas Jr. connected with ESPN and revealed, the IBF champion hasn’t contracted any major setback. Combat reporter Mike Coppinger revealed a portion of the statements via social media.

DeCubas Jr. said, “No punches landed in the scuffle; Caleb’s glasses scratched his face which caused a slight scratch. No stitches, no butterflies, no nothing. … He’s good to go.
“Canelo pushed Caleb and Caleb slapped him. The rivalry is real, and this is gonna be a war. Do not miss this fight!”
