Probably no one better than Devin Haney understands the chances of becoming an undisputed champion in the Light Welterweight division. If he becomes one, he will be the second male boxer, after Terence Crawford, to have accomplished such a feat. Regis Prograis, the WBC belt holder, thus became the first act of that campaign. The December 9 fight in San Francisco’s Chase Center will be a high-stakes test of the Lightweight Champion’s fortitude.
Be it conditioning or techniques, he doesn’t seem to be leaving any stone unturned while preparing for a hard-hitter like Prograis. Early today, he shared a photo with his followers on X, formerly Twitter. His jacked-up body must have impressed some. However, perusal of a few comments reveals not all were filled with amazement. They questioned his move and even mentioned the past fight with Vasyl Lomachenko.

This fan seems pretty straightforward. Vasyl Lomachenko defeated him during their May clash. Hence, the match with Regis Prograis barely retains its relevance.
You lost to Loma. No one cares about this fight

Likewise, according to the following user, ever since he dodged Shakur Stevenson, there’s hardly anyone keen on watching Haney anymore.
That’s cool and all but nobody fuckin with you like that after you 🦆🦆🦆 shakur

This fan shared that he would be supporting Devin Haney against Regis Prograis. However, it appears, like many, that he too believes that Lomachenko won at the MGM Grand Arena.
Bro, you have to win thus fight coming off a loss. Rooting for you bro

The following fan slammed ‘The Dream’ for claiming he would take on Gervonta Davis in the Lightweight division. However, later, he stated that their fight could happen in 140 pounds only, knowing well that ‘Tank’ is primarily a 135-pound fighter. He can’t make the excuse of belts, either. It’s not his business whether Davis fights for a belt or not.
you're the same nigga who said that he would stay at 135 for tank and then say that the fight should happen at 140 while you know damn well that tank he's 135 fighter🤣and the excuses of belts won't work because that's not your problem if tank fight for belt or not fight him

Interestingly, this user seems to wonder whether Haney is a legitimate pay-per-view draw. According to him, the fight with Prograis should be aired free on ESPN, preferably on a Friday night.
But is he really a pay per view attraction??! This fight should be free on ESPN on a Friday night…

But Devin Haney appears to have loyal fans as well. One user saw the Lomachenko fight again and felt the decision was a fair one. However, the difference in size between that fight and now suggests that ‘The Dream’ could do some severe damage to Prograis in December.

140 pounds boiling over with talents
Per available reports, Devin Haney plans to take on the IBF title holder from Puerto Rico, Subriel Matias. He remains a heavy favorite to win against 35-year-old Regis Prograis, who, with a split decision win, failed to impress during the last title defense against Danielito Zorrilla. But even if he makes it through Prograis and Matias, Devin Haney’s journey to the second undisputed championship will land him at the doors of Teofimo Lopez, who nurtures similar ambitions. After missing the feat in the Lightweight division, Lopez may not want to lose an opportunity in the Light Welterweight division either.
