A massive win but subject to criticism. Naoya Inoue, Japanese boxer and now the undisputed super-bantamweight champion, has fetched his 26th victory. He did so by beating Marlon Tapales in the 10th round of their contest. However, Dev Sahni, a boxing presenter with over 8,000 X followers, has come out in full force to call out Inoue.

Dev Sahni is a big name in boxing promotion. He is responsible for some of the most important bout of the year including Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou as well as the entire Day of Reckoning event. In an X post, he expressed his disdain and even made some serious allegations about the super bantamweight champion lacking “ambition.” Why does he make such a claim against the undefeated boxer? Let’s find out.

Naoya Inoue fails to impress Dev Sahni

Sahni was eager to see Inoue call out the British & European Super Bantamweight, Liam Davies. However, he did not do that. This left Sahni in a state of frenzy. According to him, a bout between the two is paramount. He expressed disappointment in Inoue for not considering a match with other champions and even made a claim that the boxer was avoiding the featherweight boxer, Nick Ball.

On X, he tweeted, “No great surprise there. Naoya Inoue will never win the British & European Super Bantamweight titles from Liam Davies with this lack of ambition. Also key sounded like he was avoiding Nick Ball at featherweight towards the end of the interview but I’ll let that slide.”

Sahni was not really critical of Inoue’s fight, but his failure to meet Sahni’s expectations. In any case, this win only solidifies Inoue and leaves his future very exciting. Is a fight against Gervonta Davis on the cards? Let’s find that out.

Davis vs. Inoue?

Both combatants are one of the best pound-for-pound fighters. A fight between the two was even speculated. But owing to their weight disparity, Inoue does not see it happening but holds ‘Tank,’ in high regard. In an interview, he stated, “I don’t think it’s possible [to fight him]. It’s more hype that fans are putting together… I think of him very highly. If he’s on the lower part of the pound-for-pound list, I think he should be up a little bit further than where he is now.”
