Canelo Alvarez will be fighting again before the end of the year, he’s recently coming off a remarkable victory against John Ryder on May 6th. Alvarez’s team has announced that he’d be taking on Jermall Charlo on September 16th. Although the date is still tentative, Alvarez is looking forward to defending his Super Middleweight titles against Charlo. Now this would be an interesting match-up, as Charlo has nothing but respect for Canelito and is himself an undefeated WBC World Middleweight Champion.

Even after the Alvarez-Bivol fight, Charlo stated that Canelo will always be the champion, and nothing can take that away from him. He emphasized, “Nobody can take nothing from Canelo off of one fight, you know.

Reportedly, former plans for Alvarez involved in a rematch against Dmitry Bivol couldn’t come to fruition as Bivol wanted to fight Canelo at 168, while Alvarez wanted to prove his might at 175.

As reported by ESPN‘s reporter, Mike Coppinger, the first fight would be against Charlo, and the other two fights will be scheduled for May and September 2024.

Although ‘Cinnamon’ was adamant to settle his score with Bivol, destiny prevailed and Alvarez had to move on. Still, this didn’t come as a shock to him, as Alvarez had predicted this beforehand. In a special one-year-old interview, he’s shown interest in moving forward with the PBC. So, he may have foreseen his bout against Charlo, one year ago.
