Ryan Garcia faced the first loss of his 6-year professional career against Gervonta Davis by a knockout. Now, at first, Garcia made a lot of bold claims about knocking down Davis in just the 2nd round fight, but he couldn’t do it, so he faced a lot of criticism on the internet for his  loss against ‘Tank’. But Garcia has not lost any hope as he’s also stated that he’ll be on the lookout for the rematch, and the next time he’ll make sure there is no rehydration clause coming in between the fighters. Now, even the former world boxing champion, Chris Algieri, came in support of Garcia against all the criticism.

So, a lot of fans showed their disappointment when Garcia lost, as a lot of people had higher expectations from Garcia. Even the fellow boxer, Jermall Charlo placed a $10k bet on Garcia for winning against Davis. Many fans criticized him for not blocking Davis’ counter left hook in the second round, which is what made him touch the canvas. But his fellow American boxer came in support of him and slammed all the criticism as he gave the fans a new perspective on the matter.

During the seventh round of the fight, Ryan Garcia got hit by a brutal body shot, that targeted his liver which was too painful for him to bear. And Garcia dropped to his knees and didn’t get up until the countdown. So a lot of boxing fans criticized ‘KingRy’ for getting up right after the countdown, so many speculated that he could’ve gotten up a before the countdown ended.

Now, Chris Algieri pitched in with this accusation, and he called out the criticism regarding Garcia not getting up deliberately, Algieri came in support of Garcia on Twitter and remarked that ‘KingRy’ went out there to win, and he showed a lot of valor going inside the ring. He even said that his demeanor of Garcia for this fight is something a lot of boxers should learn from. As he never backed down from any challenge during this whole fight.

Then he stated that Garcia has done, “Alot more than alot of these so called ‘champions’ do.” After this, he also addressed the critics of Garcia directly in his tweet. He wrote, “Next time your nose is leaking like a faucet and you get cracked in your liver- say something about this. Otherwise- pipe down.
