The marquee boxing contest between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr is just around the corner, which has split boxing fans. Currently, both boxers are the top 147 lbs fighters in the boxing world, but finally, the bout which has been prolonged for 4 years now, will be broadcasted on July 29th. And the fighters will touch their gloves in front of the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas. So, the pelting of predictions regarding the fight is already dropping from every direction. Recently, the man who’s fought both titlists has also given his take on this bout.

Former IBF/WBC Welterweight Champion, Shawn Porter fought Errol Spence in 2019, and Terence Crawford in 2021. For now, Porter is the only key to bridge the gap between the fighters, or at least before the fight night. And he’s recently expressed his thoughts on Terence Crawford as a fighter and his performance against Spence.

In a recent Fight Hub TV interview, former champions, Shawn Porter and Kell Brook and renowned trainers Virgil Hunter and Stephen Edwards came together. So, ‘Breadman’ was talking about how Crawford can change gears in-between the fight, which is really different from what Spence can do.

Porter agreed to this situation and revealed a very unique thing about Crawford’s mindset. He said, “Terence never got uncomfortable and Terence never showed me that he- that there was anything unsettling in his heart and in his mind throughout the fight and I pride myself on making fighters uncomfortable.” On a similar note, he continued, “Never once did I see Terence uncomfortable.”

So Porter believes if Crawford manages to maintain his cool against Spence as well, then he’ll definitely triumph against ‘The Truth’. And if Crawford wins, he’ll book a seat beside boxing greats like Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, and Andre Ward. Before this, he also predicted Crawford vs. Spence.

So the above interview is not the only time when Porter has sided with Crawford for this bout. Although Spence’s victory over Porter was more interesting as it was a close fight, Crawford was not taking any chances and keeping himself out of range most of the time. Still, the former boxing champion chose Crawford in one of his episodes on the podcast, The Porter Way Podcast. Much recently, on his podcast, he also called Canelo Alvarez a “B++” fighter.

He said, “If I had to bet my life on it if I had to put money on it, a lot of money on it, I’d put my money on Terence Crawford.” So it’s apparent where Porter’s needle bends when it comes to such decisions.
